A big night
Ronan's face is painted like a butterfly, Coby thinks he looks like the Ultimate Warrior
I am not sure why we insist on writing about Ronan’s sleep. I am sure if I reviewed the previous posts, I would find a disproportionate amount of the blog space devoted to the issue of sleep. That said, here is the latest rundown on sleep.
It feels like we have regressed in the sleep department. We are back to having issues getting Ronan into bed at night. There is also an average of 2 trips out of bed in the middle of the night. Historically, I would hear Ronan get out of bed and be able to head him off before our bedroom door. I don’t know who is calling his plays for him these days, but he now runs a route that I simply cannot defend against. His pace from his room to ours is a mild trot. Upon hitting our doorway he throws a little shake-and-bake, cuts a hard slant at top speed, and arrives at his target (Mom). Once he arrives and sees that Mom he will not accept a substitute.
On the plus side, Ronan gave up his soother yesterday. Melissa, Duane, Olivia, and their new little one Logan, came over for a visit. Prior to their arrival, Ronan said that he wanted to give Logan his soother. He then put it in Logan’s gift bag. When they opened the gift he was very proud to say that this soother was for Logan and wasn’t sad at all. Of course, he has been asking for it ever since, but so far he is accepting that Logan is now using his soother and needs it more than he does. We weren’t worrying too much about getting him to give up the soother, but the opportunity sort of fell into our laps so we took it. It wasn’t like sleep was rolling along really smoothly anyway.
Ronan had a great time at Halloween this year. He actually understood the idea of "treats" and was more than eager to go door to door saying "trick or treat". He had a few candies that night and then was accepting of "saving" the rest for another day. He seems to have forgotten about the treat bag, but I haven't gotten rid of it yet just in case... there is still some candy left. He was a very cute Lion.

too cute and funny. a good nights sleep can never be underrated- even for those without children.
i notice his collection of rocks on the arm of the deck chair-he gets that honestly. keep the updates coming.
I will second Coby's thought - Ronan definitely looks like the Ultimate Warrior. Nice work with the Paint stick man drawing Coby! Dont let anyone ever tell you that you are not talented!
